Sue Johnston is a consultant, coach and trainer who works with individuals and organizations to create better workplaces by improving the way they communicate. A professional communicator for 30 years, she began her career as a journalist, working with CBC Television, The Edmonton Journal and the London Free Press before switching to the field of business communication, where she specialized in employee audiences. Her involvement with technology began at BMO/Bank of Montreal, where she spent several years as communication consultant in its IT division. A family move took her to Bermuda, where clients included financial institutions and tech firms. Returning to Canada, in 2006, she established It's Understood Communication, a specialized consultancy that helps leaders communicate effectively in times of change. She also develops and leads custom training programs to build the communication skills of new managers and project teams. Sue has an MBA in Communication Management, a BA in Sociology / Psychology, and professional accreditation by the International Association of Business Communicators and the International Association of Coaching.
