Melissa (Schwarzschild) W. King, MD, JD, is a well established board certified dermatologist and a partner at Richmond Dermatology & Laser Specialists, in Richmond, Virginia. Her areas of clinical interests include general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology procedures, as well as skin cancer treatments.She has expertise in laser and dermatologic surgery, as well as cosmetic dermatology. However, Dr. King complements her work as a dermatologist with her role as advisor in news articles and skin care columns. She has served as a contributor to Belle, a Richmond women’s magazine, and to The Health Journal, a health and wellness magazine serving the greater Tidewater, Virginia area. Dr. King has also contributed her insights to the Chicago Tribune and the Montreal Gazette among other national newspapers. Dr. Melissa W. King joined Richmond Dermatology & Laser Specialists in 2006. Dr. Melissa W. King is a graduate of the University of Richmond. She received her medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2002 and her JD from the University of Virginia. She conducted her internship training in internal medicine and also her residency training in dermatology at VCU Medical Center. An inductee of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Dr. King is also an active member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Medical Association,the Richmond Dermatology Society, the Skin Cancer Foundation and the Medical Society of Virginia. In addition to writing articles on various topics in dermatology in various newspapers, Dr. Melissa W. King is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. In recognition of her exceptional work in the field of dermatology, Dr. King has been included into The Leading Physicians of the World by the International Association of HealthCare Professionals (IAHCP).
