Honestly, when I entered the theater, I was thinking that maybe the excessive hype surrounding the movie might ruin the experience for me. However, that was not the case. I was completely lost in The Dark Knight's plot twists for the duration of the entire movie. The characters had phenomenal acting. The pacing was spot-on. The directing was masterful. The film was nothing short of a masterpiece. With all the limelight and hype being around the Joker, I was expecting something grand, and my expectations were surpassed. Needless to say, Heath Ledger was a great actor. Also, Harvey Dent/Two-Face took me by surprise. The character had a lot of depth and Aaron Eckhart's acting brought it to life quite well. While Joker and Two-Face were the two stand-out characters (in my opinion) the rest of the cast and crew gave a solid performance as well. I believe Christian Bale deserves AAA star status and recognition and Christopher Nolan deserves the Oscar for Best Director for this movie. This is the BEST movie I have yet seen and also my FAVOURITE movie as of today. It is okay, be hyped, expect a lot from this movie, you will not be disappointed (just do not expect a campy kid's movie.
